Snapchat has revealed that its artificial intelligence will be now able to respond to users’ messages with a fully AI-generated image, as said by the owner of the photo messaging app Snapchat.
As we have already seen that image generating AI is on the rise, Snapchat chatbot which is known as My AI can help users to get answers and write poems using OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology directly over the App.
The company is trying to speed up its development of augmented reality and Artificial Intelligence features as the announcement came at Snap (NYSE:SNAP)’s annual Partner Summit.
My AI will be available for free to all Snapchat users and can be used while chatting with friends on the App. The ChatBot will be first rolled to the premium members of the app who pay $3.99 a month in SnapChat+.
My AI will help users to add effects to photos and videos by recommending lenses and also will recommend places to visit using the maps feature in the App. It will also respond to users with its own AI-generated images which is crazy to think of.
Snapchat’s CEO, Evan Spiegel, announced that My AI has received additional safety measures to safeguard it from harmful usage, which include limiting a user’s interaction with the chatbot if they frequently ask harmful or inappropriate questions. According to Spiegel, after analyzing conversations, Snapchat found that 99.5% of My AI’s responses comply with their community guidelines.
