“Audiophile’s dream”->One Plus Bud Pro 2 unveiled
At the launch event of One Plus New Year’s killer flagship phone One Plus 11, they unveiled a new truly wireless earphone – One Plus Bud Pro 2. With improved noise canceling, Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and sound tuning by Dynaudio, OnePlus is labeling these new Pro buds as an “audiophile’s dream”. Built into the buds are MelodyBoost Dual Drivers (11mm and 6mm), co-created with Dynaudio. From this, users should get solid bass performance and clear highs, “sans the rumbling and crisp vocals.”
Specifications
The wireless earbuds feature dual drivers. They measure 11mm and 6mm in size. They offer a ‘dual connection’ feature, so they can be connected to two different devices simultaneously.
The earphones support Bluetooth 5.3 and their ANC should drown out up to 48db of outside noise. There are three microphones on each earbud for optimal voice pickup and noise canceling.
Just like any other premium TWS product, these also come with an intelligent Active Noise Cancellation feature. It uses algorithms to activate ANC (up to 48dB) based on the surrounding environment.
Buds Pro 2 supports the AAC, SBC, and LC3 codecs at launch while the support for the LHDC 5.0 audio codec for high-res audio streaming over Bluetooth is coming with a future software update. Additionally, the Hi-Res Audio Wireless-certified earbuds have 360° spatial audio. There’s a 54ms low latency mode for gaming and some neat features for ColorOS 11 devices like posture and cervical spine pressure monitoring.
With ANC disabled, the IP55-rated earbuds can last up to 9 hours on a full charge. With the charging case, users can get up to 39 hours of playback time. With ANC enabled, these numbers drop to 6 hours and 25 hours. The case can charge wirelessly via any Qi charger or wired via USB-C.
Expected Price
The OnePlus Buds Pro 2 comes in black and green colors and retails for CNY 899 ($130) in China. Open sales there start on January 9 while international pricing and availability details will be revealed on February 7. The expected price in India is Rs. 10,990.
