Previously, as we all know that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 needed to go through a factory reset before configuring it to a new device. This can be a really cumbersome process as the user needs to set and configure everything from scratch. However, this has been fixed as per the new report from 9to5Google as users will be able to switch their phones without doing a factory reset for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 with the new One UI 5 Watch software update.
Samsung has reportedly said that the One UI 5 Watch update will be available for select beta testers in the US and South Korea. This new feature will be available via the Galaxy Wearable app on Samsung smartphones and later on it will be available on other phones also.
The upcoming Samsung One UI 5 watch update will bring numerous new features like sleep insights and smart health monitoring along with personalized heart rate zone.
The feature to configure this Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch to a new phone will be found in the general settings section of the Galaxy Wearable app which adds the new functionality in the App, with which users will be able to retain the settings configuration of the watch along with the watch faces, and the installed apps.
