Samsung plans to release the One UI 5 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 later this year, which will bring several new features like improved sleep tracking, personalized heart rate zones, and new safety features. More details on additional features will be announced later. Owners of Galaxy Watches in the US and Korea can sign up for the One UI 5 Watch beta in May. One of the key updates is a new Sleep Insights UI that focuses on your sleep score, which will be displayed more prominently along with your sleep time. The update also includes a sleep coaching feature and an infrared sensor that reduces distractions when you’re falling asleep which is really great.

Samsung recognizes that users have varying levels of physical fitness, and as part of the One UI 5 Watch update, it will analyze this information to offer personalized workout intensity levels. This feature can be especially helpful for runners, as it will assist them in reaching their ideal heart rate zones for a really good effective workout.

The Route Workout feature will now include running and walking, in addition to other activities, as part of the One UI 5 Watch update. Samsung is also emphasizing that Galaxy Watch 5 Pro users will have direct access to the GPX File Database through the Samsung Health app, which can provide recommended routes for their workouts.

The One UI 5 Watch update also includes enhancements to safety features such as SOS, which can send your information to emergency services and display your medical information automatically. Additionally, fall detection will be automatically activated for users aged 55 and above. These updates aim to provide greater peace of mind and safety for Galaxy Watch 4/5 users.

The One UI 5 Watch update will be available later this year, but Samsung has not announced an exact release date yet. The company is expected to reveal additional features soon. However, in the meantime, Samsung is offering the One UI 5 Watch beta to users in the United States and Korea this month, allowing them to try out the new features. Interested users can sign up for the beta via the Samsung Members app.
