New Tweet Reveals Nothing Phone 1 will receive Nothing OS 2.0

Carl Pei, the CEO of Nothing, has been gradually revealing details about Phone 2, building anticipation for the company’s upcoming smartphone. Fortunately, we finally have confirmation of the release date, which is scheduled for July 11. Alongside the new phone, Nothing is introducing a fresh operating system known as Nothing OS 2.0. Although there was uncertainty about whether the update would be available for the existing Nothing Phone 1 and when it would happen, Carl Pei has clarified that the update will indeed be released for Phone 1 in August.

Carl Pei took to his Twitter account to announce the news, emphasizing the significance of software support for Nothing. He assured Phone 1 users that they would receive the Nothing OS 2.0 update by the conclusion of August. This announcement brings relief to Phone 1 users who had concerns about the update’s availability for their devices. As the inaugural smartphone from Nothing, the Phone 1 holds a special place, and this recent development demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing continued support for its older hardware.

Previously, as we all know that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5 needed to go through a factory reset before configuring it to a new device. However, this has been fixed as per the new report from 9to5Google as users will be able to switch their phones without doing a factory reset for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 with the new One UI 5 Watch software update.

Samsung has reportedly said that the One UI 5 Watch update will be available for select beta testers in the US and South Korea. This new feature will be available via the Galaxy Wearable app on Samsung smartphones and later on it will be available on other phones also.

The upcoming Samsung One UI 5 watch update will bring numerous new features like sleep insights and smart health monitoring along with personalized heart rate zone.

The feature to configure this Samsung Galaxy Smartwatch to a new phone will be found in the general settings section of the Galaxy Wearable app which adds the new functionality in the App, with which users will be able to retain the settings configuration of the watch along with the watch faces, and the installed apps.

Nothing Phone 2 will receive 3 Years of Android OS and 4 Years of security Updates.

Nothing is going to launch the Nothing Phone 2 in July which will run on the Android 13 OS and Nothing OS custom skin out of the box. However, the company has declared that Nothing Phone 2 will receive 3 years of Android and 4 years of security updates.

So as there will be 3 years of Android updates we can expect the Nothing Phone 2 to get the Android 16 OS update in the coming years.

WhatsApp Edit Feature is now Live.

WhatsApp is coming up with a lot of new features recently and among them now you can edit your messages even after sending them to the desired person. Whatsapp will give users 15 minutes time to change or edit any of the wrong messages they have sent to anyone. With this feature, you will have more control over misspellings or adding messages to your chat. Whatsapp Will Soon Let You Send HD images to users.

Whatsapp is revealing a lot of new features in recent times and now users will be able to share HD images on both Android and iOS platforms.

According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now making the feature live for select beta testers and this latest feature is included in the WhatsApp beta for iOS version 23.11.0.76 and WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.23.12.13.

As depicted in the screenshot provided, the option to send HD-quality images will be there at the top, next to the crop icon. When selected, the image will display an “HD” watermark in the lower left corner to denote it is an HD image.

However, there are some limitations as a little bit of compression will be added to large-sized images. WhatsApp will maintain the aspect ratio of the image in its full resolution. Additionally, the Standard option will be enabled by default, so you will need to manually enable the HD option each time you share an image in the App

It is important to know that WhatsApp already allows users to send larger files up to 2GB in size, but this capability is specifically related to images and not other files.

Whatsapp Introduced Channel Feature to broadcast messages across the platform

A lot of new features are getting added in WhatsApp and recently WhatsApp application has added features like chat lock, message editing, material UI, and much more. Now, the company is introducing another new feature called Channels within the WhatsApp messaging app.

WhatsApp has introduced this feature which will provide users with a simple and secure way to receive Dean important updates from organizations and individuals in the app. These channels will be displayed in a separate tab called Updates, ensuring it will be different from regular chats with friends, family, and communities.

According to reports, WhatsApp channel admins will only have access to send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls to their channels. These conversations will be unidirectional, meaning users won’t be able to respond to these messages, which means they will only be able to view them.

To join a channel, users can use invite links or QR codes shared via chat, email, online posts, or other platforms. Additionally, WhatsApp is working on a searchable directory that will help users discover channels based on their interests, such as hobbies, sports teams, and local updates which can open a field of opportunities.

Nothing Phone 2 Specs confirmed and is going to release next month.

Nothing Phone 2 is all set to launch next month and the specs are also revealed recently which looks promising. A great deal of excitement is there and it will be a great device with many impressive specs and some of it has been revealed already.

The design principles will be the same as the predecessor Nothing Phone 1. The device will come with a transparent chassis which will be the same. The Glyph Interface will also be present in the Phone (2) with some minor modifications. Instead of continuous LED lights below the rear camera bump and around the wireless charging coil, there will be small LED strips. Additionally, the recording indicator has been changed from a dot to a small red line, which we have already seen earlier.

The phone will have a larger 6.7-inch AMOLED display along with a 120Hz refresh rate. The processor will be the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and this time it will house a bigger 4,700mAh battery which is larger than the Nothing Phone 1. Other expected specs include a 50MP rear camera setup, up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the latest Android 13 operating system, and wireless charging support. The pricing details are not available yet, the Phone (2) is expected to be reasonably priced and accessible to a wider audience this time.

Nothing OS 2 is coming soon with improved features and updates.

Nothing OS 2.0 is getting launched later this year and it will be the primary OS for Nothing Phones which will bring enhancements in the visual and functional aspects of the phones.

In a recent interview with XDA-Developers, Mladen M. Hoyss, the creative director of Nothing Software, shared insights about Nothing OS 2.0. Hoyss has said the company is working to improve the OS in terms of visual design, as they believe they have the perfect opportunity and momentum to do so. The upcoming Nothing OS 2.0 will also prioritize “functional aesthetics,” a concept rooted in data science that aims to present large amounts of data in a visually appealing and easily understandable manner.

Hoyss emphasized that the company’s goal with Nothing OS is to enable users to be productive and efficient and also create a seamless integration of productivity and entertainment within the Nothing ecosystem. The Nothing ecosystem will constitute all the Nothing Products and these need to be seamlessly integrated. Additionally, Nothing OS 2.0 will continue to be based on the Android platform, but with enhancements that aim to improve user productivity and overall ease of use.

Also, he said the improvements in terms of customization options for the Home screen is coming which will make the OS visually more appealing to users. However, Hoyss did not provide extensive information regarding the specific rollout plans for Nothing OS 2.0, but it is reasonable to expect its release in the summer.
